BFI Directors Lab (2025)

I was selected along with a handful of students from my cohort to help construct a set commissioned by the BFI (British Film Institute) for their South West Directors Lab. As a team, we worked with the set designers to create an abandoned wharf set. This set had to work for both modern day ( as a renovated art studio) and the 1930s (as an abandoned wharf). This project taught me how to communicate with a designer and how to produce a product for a client. Our responsibilities included standing flats, scenic painting, prop sourcing, and set dressing. The bulk of the work on this project was scenic painting. I fine-tuned my skills at creating different textures, such as varying stages of rust, wood, brick, metal and concrete.
